Overview The Opportunity: Wellstar Health System announces an exceptional opportunity for an exemplary physician leader to serve as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center. Responsibilities Reporting to the Hospital President with a matrix relationship to the EVP of Clinical Integration; member of the executive leadership team for Wellstar North Fulton. Lead clinical initiatives aimed at improving quality, safety, patient and physician satisfaction while managing costs, reducing length of stay, improving care coordination and clinical productivity. Oversee physician relations, medical staff communications, and ensure clinical input into strategic planning. Provide leadership oversight of performance for medical management and patient care metrics, safety initiatives, quality and service excellence, case management, physician leadership development, physician relations, and recruitment. Guide implementation of clinical information systems and support medical staff affairs and continuing medical education. Drive physician performance improvement and recruitment in alignment with organizational goals. The Ideal Candidate Minimum of 10-15 years of experience as a clinical physician; may work clinically (0.1 FTE). Minimum of 7 years of physician leadership experience in an acute care setting, including experience as a Chief Medical Officer. Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required. Eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia. Certification as a Physician Executive (CPE) or other advanced physician leadership certification preferred. Background in quality and safety; strong relationship-building skills; credibility with procedural and service-line leaders. Strong interpersonal qualities and the demeanor to quickly establish credibility with superior physician relations. Ability to organize and present data concisely to professionals, physicians, and board members; able to create accountability structures using data. Understanding of statistical analysis, clinical epidemiology, best practices, and how to introduce information technology into clinical practice. An inspiring leader who can drive clinical quality and build a strong management team; proven ability to lead through growth, change and expansion.
