Job Description
Embark on a transformative travel nursing journey as a Licensed Practical Nurse in California’s Alturas, where your hands-on care will uplift patients, support families, and strengthen a tight-knit rural health system. This LPN role is a powerful opportunity to apply your clinical skills in a setting that values precision, compassion, and collaboration, while you explore the natural beauty and unique communities of northern California. Your start date is 11/24/2025 for a flexible, multi-week assignment with guaranteed hours and a competitive pay rate, offering the perfect blend of professional challenge and personal adventure.
Alturas sits amid pristine landscapes—Modoc National Forest, the Warner Mountains, and nearby lava beds—that invite you to recharge after a demanding shift and to draw inspiration for patient care. Working here means you’ll enjoy a tight-knit community where relationships matter, access to outdoor recreation, and the chance to refine your clinical judgment in a setting that often rewards proactive problem-solving. For nurses who crave variety, the program also includes assignments across the U.S., exposing you to different facilities, patient populations, and care models, from serene rural clinics to fast-paced urban hospitals. The mix creates a rich professional tapestry while maintaining the support and stability you deserve.
In this role, you’ll administer medications within your scope, perform routine assessments, monitor vital signs, assist with pre- and post-operative care, and help patients with activities of daily living and wound care. You’ll educate patients and families about treatment plans, safety, and self-care, document changes meticulously, and coordinate with RNs and physicians to ensure timely and accurate care plans. You’ll supervise and mentor CNAs, helping to build stronger care teams and elevate overall patient experience. The position is designed for growth: with experience you can expand your clinical capabilities, participate in continuing education opportunities, and position yourself for future transitions to RN roles or specialty areas. Our benefits are crafted to recognize your expertise: competitive weekly pay ranging from $2,072 to $2,115, guaranteed 36 hours weekly, and the potential for sign-on bonuses, housing stipends, and flexible extension opportunities that let you stay with the program if you love the setting and the people.
You’ll never travel alone. Our 24/7 travel support team is there to help with housing logistics, credentialing, onboarding, and ongoing problem solving. You’ll have access to a dedicated travel concierge and on-site supervisors who understand rural practice realities. The company is committed to empowering staff with clear paths for advancement, structured mentorship, and a culture of respect, inclusion, and excellence. We invest in you because your growth translates into better patient outcomes, stronger teams, and broader community impact. This is more than an assignment; it’s a launching pad for your nursing career—one that honors your contributions and supports your ambitions.
Are you ready to join a company that values your expertise, rewards your dedication, and supports your professional development every step of the way? Apply now to begin this rewarding journey in Alturas, California, with opportunities to expand across the United States while making a tangible difference in people’s lives. Embrace scenic landscapes, meaningful work, and a pathway to greater clinical proficiency and leadership.
