Job Description

*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:* * Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries to patients, athletes, and clients within the scope of practice defined by the Board of Certification (BOC) and the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. * Develop and implement rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols in collaboration with physical therapists and physicians. * Maintain appropriate documentation for patient care, injury tracking, referrals, and communications in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines. * Provide athletic training coverage at assigned outreach sites, including high schools, colleges, sporting events, and community partners, as business needs arise. * Communicate regularly within HIPAA regulations with patients, families, physicians, coaches, and staff regarding care plans, progress, and precautions. * Participate in performance improvement and professional development activities and training as directed by the Clinic Director. * Assist with the management of inventory, supplies, and equipment related to athletic training operations, including clinic and outreach settings. * Serve as a liaison for health and wellness education, injury prevention strategies, and risk management practices. * Comply with the Facilitys Comprehensive Compliance Plan (CCP), including but not limited to: Business & Clinical Operations, Environmental Health & Safety, HIPAA, Human Resources, and Code of Conduct as well as all facility policies and procedures. *POSITION REQUIREMENTS:* * Ability to effectively multitask * Attention to detail * Time management skills * Base knowledge of EOS processes * Strong understanding of ActivePT goals and vision * Excellent communication skillswritten, verbal, and general interactive * Organizational skillspriority setting, file maintenance & report generation *EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:* * Bachelors or Masters Degree in Athletic Training or a related field from a CAATE-accredited program. * Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers. * Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Minnesota. * Current CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers certification. *EXPERIENCE:* * Athletic Training experience preferred *PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY:* *Consistent with published industry PDC norms or minimally:* * Requires the manual dexterity, strength, and stamina needed for daily athletic training responsibilities. * * * Lifting routinely loads of 535 pounds from: * Floor to waist * Waist to shoulder * Shoulder to overhead * Carrying routinely loads of 515 pounds for 4060 feet. * Pushing up to 150 pounds on casters, wheels, or pulleys. * Sustaining a grip routinely for 12 minutes of 4050 pounds. * Guarding or assisting a lift load (e.g., assisting an athlete) of up to 120140 pounds. *EXPOSURE DETERMINATION:* * Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure due to clinical and outreach duties. * Has the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure due to injury management and emergency response. *HIPAA STATUS:* * All employees of ActivePT will be compliant with all HIPAA/HITECH regulations within their scope of duties * As an employee of ActivePT, I may have access to Protected Health information (PHI) which could be in oral, written, electronic, visual, pictorial, physical, or in any format or medium.
