URBAN TXT: Teens Exploring Technology is a nationally recognized and growing nonprofit organization focused on inspiring young men of color to become confident leaders who use technology as a tool to improve marginalized communities. Position Summary TXT-LABS is seeking a creative and motivated Web Designer/UI/UX Designer for a Federal Work-Study position. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of IT consulting projects, including educational technology initiatives. You will be responsible for designing user interfaces that enhance user experiences across our web and mobile platforms. Responsibilities Design and develop user interfaces for various web and mobile applications, ensuring they are visually appealing and user-friendly. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas. Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and iterate on designs. Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of design elements. Maintain design guidelines, style guides, and UI patterns to ensure consistency across projects. Ensure all designs are optimized for various devices and screen sizes. Key Qualifications You MUST be a USC student applying through work-study. Enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g., Graphic Design, Web Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field). Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar. Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful, user-centric designs. We serve young men of color between the 7th and 11th grade who are from low-income communities.
