Job Summary: The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for ensuring proper setup and management of traffic control for various projects. This individual will work closely with crews to ensure that all traffic control measures are properly executed to ensure safety and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and possess current Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the setup, management, and breakdown of traffic control systems for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, laws, and regulations related to traffic control.
  • Collaborate with field crews to ensure proper traffic control measures are implemented efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide guidance and training to techs and crew members on traffic control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor the worksite for proper placement and adjustment of traffic control signs, barriers, and devices.
  • Conduct daily inspections of traffic control setups to maintain compliance and address any potential safety issues.
  • Communicate with project managers, field supervisors, and other team members to ensure seamless traffic control operations.
  • Respond to any traffic-related issues or incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain documentation of traffic control activities, including reports on compliance, equipment usage, and any incidents that occur.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in traffic control or a related field.
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in the setup and management of traffic control systems.
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations for traffic control in construction environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with crews and supervisors.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • MOT Certification is mandatory. • Knowledge of traffic control devices, road safety regulations, and construction safety protocols.
  • Ability to train and mentor crew members on proper traffic control procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure smooth coordination of traffic control at job sites.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and under various weather conditions.
