Job Details Title: Senior Planner Agency: Construction & Development Location: 2 Broadway, New York, NY Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or as required (7.5 hours/day) Salary Range: $80,963 to $105,349 Application Deadline: Apr 24, 2025 Summary The Senior Planner will perform planning functions for the MTA, including creating the 20-Year Capital Needs Assessment and five-year Capital Programs. This role involves collaboration with MTA agencies, stakeholders, consultants, and government entities to develop and prioritize capital proposals. Responsibilities include analyzing, developing, and reporting on transportation investment proposals and programmatic performance metrics. Responsibilities Coordinate development of the MTA's plans and programs. Assist with planning, developing, and prioritizing within the 20-Year Needs Assessment and 5-year Capital Program. Contribute to capital objectives and strategies, and assist in staff training. Develop business cases and evaluate proposals and initiatives. Support development and evaluation of investment strategies. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Develop planning documents, graphics, maps, and communication tools. Coordinate team relationships within MTA and with outside entities. Quantify benefits of investments, including operational cost savings models. Review and provide feedback on consultant deliverables. Utilize large databases for planning and prioritization. Design and deliver presentations with maps and graphics to various audiences. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Transportation, or related field. At least four years of professional experience. Master's degree preferred. AICP or PE certification/license a plus. Passion for improving New York’s transit system. Familiarity with MTA network and Capital Program. Experience in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting. Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office, data analytics, visualization, GIS, or similar tools.
