Northern California Preparatory School (NCPS), an education site of Point Quest Group, is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Moderate/Severe) to join our specialized middle and high school program in Sacramento, California. Our students include adolescents with high-functioning autism (Type 1) and co-occurring mental health needs. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who can create structured, individualized educational experiences that support both academic growth and social-emotional development.

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals
Design and deliver specialized academic instruction for students with moderate to severe disabilities
Foster a structured, predictable, and supportive classroom environment
Collaborate with related service providers, behavioral teams, and families
Support students' social and emotional growth through embedded SEL strategies
Track and document academic and behavioral progress
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
Support crisis intervention and behavior management strategies as needed
Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree in Special Education or related field (preferred)
Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Moderate/Severe) or eligibility to obtain
Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders and emotional/behavioral challenges
Knowledge of evidence-based practices and curriculum adaptations for students with moderate/severe needs
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience in a nonpublic school or alternative education setting is a plus
Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
Frequent reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Normal vision and hearing, with or without correction
