Job Description

A school district in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to provide support during a maternity leave. This contract position runs from September 12th through November 24th and involves working with 8th grade middle school students in a co-teaching setting. The caseload includes 10 students requiring specialized instructional support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of students with disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers in a co-teaching model to ensure inclusion and effective support
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with families and school staff

Qualifications:

• New Jersey CE, CEAS, or Standard Special Education teaching license
• Experience working in middle school special education preferred
• Ability to co-teach and collaborate effectively with diverse educational teams
• Strong organizational and communication skills
