Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalized and evidence-based care to patients according to their treatment plans
• Effectively manage workload by assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities as needed
• Assess individual patient needs and develop tailored plans of care
• Evaluate the effectiveness of provided care and implement necessary adjustments
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Standard I: The Nursing Process

• Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and develop effective care plans
• Communicate findings to the healthcare team and document patient information accurately
• Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures, monitor patient response, and record progress
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided and make necessary adjustments

Standard II. Patient Flow Process

• Anticipate and plan for admission/discharge/transfer needs to optimize patient flow
• Utilize communication systems and tools to facilitate the discharge process
• Coach others on proper use of these systems and tools

Standard III. Unit Operations Management

• Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care and functions within a specific unit during an assigned shift
• Demonstrate good stewardship of equipment and supplies
• Assess departmental staffing needs and actively participate in resourcing efforts
• Train and educate others on unit operations, ethics, and regulations

Standard IV. Safe Practice & Quality Care

• Apply patient safety practices and guidelines to create a safe environment
• Account for nursing research and quality improvement activities
• Provide evidence-based care that promotes optimal patient outcomes
• Communicate patient information effectively across the continuum of care
