Job Description

DPP is seeking a Salesforce Developer for a direct hire opportunity in Mount Airy, NC.

Position summary:
  • The Salesforce Developer specializes in building, customizing, and maintaining solutions within the Salesforce platform. They utilize their expertise in Salesforce development principles and knowledge to improve the user experience and ultimately optimize customer satisfaction.
  • Under direct supervision, the Salesforce Developer performs work assignments in one or more of the following areas: develops software programs from specifications supplied by a senior staff member; performs program modifications that result from issues raised by users; performs thorough unit testing of programs prior to user testing; develops program/software documentation.
  • Hybrid schedule: Onsite 3 days/week; remote 2 days/week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday). 
Responsibilities and duties:
  • Develops and maintains application software working from detailed program specifications. (50%)
  • Tests application code using generally accepted debugging techniques to ensure compliance with supplied program specifications. (25%)
  • Prepares necessary embedded application/program documentation for review by senior level staff in accordance with established quality standards. (10%)
  • In conjunction with senior staff, consults with the end-user community to determine and satisfy business requirements. (10%)
  • Assists senior staff members in the development of time/cost estimates for program preparation, modification, testing, and development. (5%)
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 
Education/equivalency:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or other IT-related degree, or in Mathematics with minors in Computer Science or Information Systems fields. 
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • 2+ years’ experience performing Salesforce Enterprise Edition Sales and Service Development.
  • 1-3 years SQL development experience preferred.
  • Coding experience with Apex, Visualforce pages, triggers, Lightning Pages, Lightning components, Lightning web components, java script, record page layouts, and integrations.
  • Ability to deploy Salesforce changes from development to production.
  • Strong analytical and testing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer hardware and software systems and operating systems
  • Diverse knowledge base of technology capabilities
  • Quality control methods
  • Problem analysis
  • A variety of PC related software
  • Basic knowledge of PC Communications
  • Basic understanding of computer networks (local and wide area)
  • Modern office practices and procedures
  • Proper use of spoken English
  • Business English composition, spelling, punctuation, and style
  • Interpersonal communications techniques
  • Principles, methods, and procedures utilized in training 
Complexity of duties:
Duties require considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, to devise new or modify and adapt existing methods, techniques and procedures to meet new or unusual requirements and to make related decisions guided by precedent and with the limits of established policies, including required ability to:
  • Consistently produce high-quality results in code, thought process, testing, etc.
  • Efficiently create and code software applications using the languages utilized by the company
  • Problem solve and debug another programmer’s logic
  • Compose complex business correspondence and reports
  • Deal effectively with individuals at all business levels and a variety of situations requiring tact, judgment, and composure
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks requiring extensive follow-up
  • Adhere to prescribed routines and practices
  • Use good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority
  • Program using several different languages
