Job Description

Private Fund Compliance - Senior Principal Consultant Join to apply for the Private Fund Compliance - Senior Principal Consultant role at ACA Group . This role is based out of one of our office locations (New York City/Tri-State, Boston (opening 2025), Pittsburgh, Chattanooga, Portland Maine, and Medford Oregon). You will work on a hybrid schedule with two days a week in the office. The Opportunity: The individual in this position will participate in mock regulatory examinations and compliance program reviews, assist with policy and procedure reviews, draft reports and manuals to promote compliance, and provide compliance advice to clients advising private funds (hedge funds, private equity, real estate, etc.) and registered products (ETFs, mutual funds). The role may also involve leading complex projects, developing client relationships, and overseeing junior staff. Additionally, serving as an outsourced chief compliance officer (OCCO) to clients is a key aspect, ensuring compliance programs meet regulatory requirements and best practices. What you’ll do: Lead or assist all aspects of mock regulatory examinations and compliance reviews, overseeing project team members. Review and coordinate work during reviews of large, complex clients. Provide regulatory consulting services, including regulatory filings, forensic testing, policy reviews, and compliance questions. Manage client relationships and projects proactively, ensuring excellent client service and collaboration with internal departments. Support internal projects such as industry articles, research, training, and presentations. Supervise, train, evaluate, and provide feedback to colleagues. Perform ad-hoc work to support internal and client initiatives. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 8 years of industry experience or at least 6 years with relevant regulatory or compliance roles. Advanced knowledge of federal securities laws and regulations (e.g., Investment Advisers Act, Securities Exchange Act). Executive presence and ability to interact with regulators and high-profile clients. Preferred qualifications: Major or concentration in compliance, law, business, finance, or economics. Supervisory experience. Skills and attributes: Professional integrity, dependability, adaptability. Discretion, independent judgment, strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with web-based technologies. Willingness to travel. Supervisory duties: Supervise, train, evaluate, and provide feedback to junior colleagues.
