We are seeking an accomplished Onshore Pipeline Project Director to join our team at Cronus. Our successful candidate will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of highly technical onshore pipeline projects from concept to completion. The Project Director will directly liaise with our clients and be the Professional Engineer of record on delivered products. To successfully accomplish, they will provide strategic oversight of engineering and drafting activities while ensuring seamless integration across planning, design, procurement, and construction support phases. Finally, the Project Director will share our corporate vision while leveraging both our contact and your own to assist in further developing our onshore portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the onshore pipeline projects business.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination with internal engineering and drafting teams, external contractors, vendors, procurement, environmental, and right-of-way specialists to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Drive the development of efficient, cost-effective solutions by applying a technical solution approach to project scoping and execution.
  • Oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring delivery to scope, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction through proactive communication and exceptional project delivery.
  • Identify, Recruit and Mentor team members to strengthen Cronus technical capabilities in this domain, including the overall leadership pipeline.
  • Provide input on business development initiatives and support in pursuing new project opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required. Preferably in the following states: Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, additional states are advantages.
  • Proven track record (10+ years) in onshore pipeline project management and engineering, with demonstrated success in delivering pipeline projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pipeline engineering, design, and construction support processes on both an intrastate and interstate basis.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, permitting, and compliance within the pipeline industry, including FERC filling experience.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and align diverse teams across disciplines and geographies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to engage clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related field required; Master’s preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

Physical demands:

  • The ability to climb tank stairs and walk over uneven surfaces on the pipeline right of way or at field facilities.

Working conditions:

  • Option to work in Cronus office in the Houston Energy Corridor or from any recognized pipeline hub (i.e. Tulsa / Midland).
  • Mostly office-based work but must be able to work outdoors at project sites.
  • Contact after normal working hours is expected from contractors and inspectors.
  • Availability to work extended hours and travel with short notice in emergency situations.
  • Travel approximately 5% - 20% with possible overnight stays if within Houston, 20% - 40% if located in recognized pipeline hub.
