The IT Helpdesk Specialist position will provide technical assistance and support for incoming help desk tickets related to computer systems, software and hardware. This role requires a passion for providing high quality customer service and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for hardware, software, account, and printer issues across multiple locations.
- Diagnose and resolve tier 1 and tier 2 technical problems related to computer systems, telephony, software, and other related hardware.
- Co-Manage the helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation of issues.
- Conduct user account management, including creation, permission assignment, and password resets.
- Perform proactive maintenance on client devices, including security patches and application updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve printer problems, including maintenance and vendor escalation when necessary.
- Manage device distribution and collection for employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Provide basic technical training and guidance to end-users.
- Collaborate with the IT team to escalate and resolve complex technical issues, escalating to MSP partner as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT processes, procedures, and configurations.
- Identify and report potential major incidents and problems to management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 2 years of helpdesk work experience required.
- Strong customer support skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving ability to diagnose and resolve basic and complex technical issues.
- Possess attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to be flexible, multi-task and organize priorities in a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining a high level of focus and accuracy.
- High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must own a reliable vehicle for travel within the Metro Detroit area.
- Able to lift at least 40 pounds.
