Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Inventory Manager to lead the development and implementation of a best-in-class inventory control system . This individual will possess a comprehensive understanding of inventory management principles with a proven track record in manufacturing, warehousing and hardware environments. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to build and manage a successful inventory program while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.

In this role as the Inventory Manager, you will establish and maintain accurate inventory data through regular audits and cycle counts, analyze raw material and supply levels to proactively prevent shortages and generate insightful reports and data analysis to empower informed decision-making. In addition to these critical areas of focus, you will lead the charge of implementing efficient warehousing practices for inbound and outbound goods, identify and capitalize on opportunities for inventory reduction and supply chain optimization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of a scalable inventory management program tailored to our multi-site operations.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels by establishing and maintaining accurate inventory data through regular audits and cycle counts.
  • Conduct proactive analysis of raw material and supply levels to identify and prevent potential shortages.
  • Generate insightful reports and data analysis to empower informed decision-making by management and executive leadership.
  • Leverage expertise in inventory management software and advanced spreadsheet applications to optimize processes.
  • Organize and manage warehousing for inbound and outbound goods and products.
  • Champion best practices in inventory control techniques, demand forecasting, and supply chain management principles.
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy, ensuring alignment with company needs and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaboratively provide guidance and support to Supply Chain Operations as business needs evolve.
  • Continuously analyze inventory levels, turnover rates, and carrying costs to identify and capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
  • Track and analyze shipments of final products, ensuring they meet precise customer requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of facility stock and executed orders.
  • Develop innovative processes to streamline and enhance the efficiency of the supply chain.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for inventory reduction and supply chain optimization, and determine the resources required to capitalize on them.
  • Actively participate in system implementation projects, providing operational support to achieve core departmental and company objectives.
  • Other duties as required to support team and organization.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent professional certifications.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management or coordination.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory and warehouse management.
  • Proficient in data analysis and software programs, with a solid foundation in ERP, WMS, Excel, and supply chain management technology.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems quickly.
  • Advanced understanding of freight, distribution, and shipping methods.
  • Previous experience working within the Alaska Seafood Industry or related networks is a significant advantage.

Work Environment and Schedule

Position requires onsite presence in the Seattle office and the Company's warehouse location(s). A hybrid work schedule can be available if the candidate can effectively manage the workload of the department team, which consists of both onsite, hybrid and remote employees. Occasional travel to processing plants or to visit warehouse and distribution center locations will be required.

While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Salary Disclosure

The typical base pay range for this role is $85,000-$100,000 per year. Individual base pay depends on numerous factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
