Responsibilities: - Support the food safety team with HACCP and overall food safety control.
- Assist in ensuring the facility maintains Halal & Non-Halal food safety standards.
- Receive, inspect, and verify the accuracy and quality of ordered merchandise, including quantity checks. Reject unacceptable merchandise following internal procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Check and document delivery notes for all received goods and distribute merchandise to appropriate storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations, storage protocols, and FIFO procedures.
- Perform daily quality control and food safety tasks, including pre-operational, operational, and post-operational checks, temperature monitoring, cooler/freezer inspections, thermometer calibration, sanitizer checks, and oversight of third-party cleaning activities.
- Conduct regular traceability audits, laboratory collections, and swabs for testing.
- Ensure all necessary chemicals are available and properly stored in designated departments (e.g., porters, pot wash, dish room, transportation).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient receiving area and facility, including hygiene inspections.
- Follow HACCP standards, GMP practices, and all local, state, federal, and international food safety regulations.
- Respond to questions regarding food safety processes and reinforce GMP best practices through regular floor walks, coaching, and self-audits.
- Escalate non-compliance issues to the FS/QA Supervisor, FS/QA Manager, and Department Manager and follow up on timely corrective actions.
- Support pest control management and escalate concerns as needed.
- Train employees, provide coaching on hygiene and food safety matters.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the FS/QA Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food processing, hospitality, or a high-paced catering environment, including floor monitoring or relevant experience.
- HACCP certification is required.
- Additional Food Safety Certification, such as PCQI and SERVSafe, is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FIFO, and ISO systems.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication; skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds; able to work in both cold and hot environments.
- Works effectively independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments while demonstrating self-motivation, a professional work ethic, and a service-oriented approach.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with business needs.
