Director – GOCA (Gallery of Contemporary Art) – University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Salary: Generally starting at $67,558 – $93,184 per year The UCCS Galleries of Contemporary Art (GOCA) Director oversees all aspects of this non-collecting arts program. Areas of responsibility include artistic planning for indoor gallery spaces and non-permanent public sculpture program on the grounds of the Ent Center for the Arts, development and implementation of operational strategy, communication programs, public relations, fundraising and donor stewardship, and management procedures for indoor gallery space and non-permanent public sculpture program on the grounds of the Ent Center for the Arts. The mission of the Galleries of Contemporary Art (GOCA) is to spark engaged dialogue about contemporary culture through visual art exhibitions, public programs and special events that articulate aesthetics, current issues, and diverse perspectives for a wide range of audiences, including UCCS students, faculty, staff, and regional community visitors. GOCA seeks to promote and enhance the understanding and appreciation of contemporary interdisciplinary art. The Director will oversee and implement operational and managerial procedures of GOCA, and work with Ent Center leadership and University Advancement to raise funds for exhibitions and programs. The Director will collaborate with UCCS and CU faculty to implement academically relevant programs and demonstrate comfort working in an academic atmosphere and a highly public, community-facing role. The Director of GOCA is a critical arts leader and advocate on campus and across the Pikes Peak Region; a desire to engage in the local arts community is essential.
