WHO YOU ARE

You are a compassionate Art Therapist who is looking for an opportunity to support students by collaborating with Hope Academy staff to provide counseling and support services to students within the school. As an Art Therapist you will be responsible for helping students attain an optimal level of personal and social adjustment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Counseling and Therapy - Prepare and facilitate individual and group counseling sessions as deemed appropriate by the IEP team within Hope Academy and additional services provided through Hope Learning Center.

• Documentation - Maintain student documentation, including special education reports, confidential records, records of services provided, and behavioral data according to Hope’s policies and procedures

• External Communication - Communicate with families in a structured and professional manner about the proposed counseling interventions, expected outcomes, risks, and benefits

• Collaboration and Development - Actively participate in staff meetings and in-service training programs to continuously update skills

• Other responsibilities as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art Therapy

• 1+ years of experience in the field of education, autism, and/or human services

• Registered Art Therapist (ATR) OR Board Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC)

Clearances & Training Required

• Act 33 PA Child Abuse History Clearance

• Act 34 PA State Criminal History Clearance

• Act 114 FBI Clearance issued by the Dept of Education

• Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training Certificate

• Act 168 from Previous Employers where you came into contact with children

• CPR/First Aid

• TB/Physical
