Job Summary

BenefitHub serves as a trusted resource to millions of employees/shoppers. We are seeking an experienced, creative, and versatile Content Writer/Editor to join us on a part-time/freelance basis to create content for seasonal holidays and shopping events, including Black Friday/Cyber Monday and the ideal candidate will be able to submit samples of this type of work. The role is focused on producing content on shopping deals as well as product reviews/recommendations. As our commerce writer, you will help our members to make informed decisions on the best shopping deals - saving them time, effort, and money. The success of an article will be measured based on the affiliate revenue it earns - this means a strong candidate needs to not only be a strong writer but able to effectively communicate what makes a product worth purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Write short form shopping deal recommendations for key holidays and other shopping events.
• Write assigned product roundups and single-product and brand spotlight reviews
• Research, write, and edit content for shopping guides, such as gift guides and/or product reviews (including incorporating consumer trends, seasonal topics and cultural moments).
• Produce copy in friendly-consultative tone that extends BenefitHub's trust with its members.
• Ensure all content is optimized for readability, SEO, and shareability.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years working experience in a journalist or similar role
• Minimum 2 years working for or writing shopping content and/or reviews/recommendations
• Must have Experience having written Black Friday guides and provide samples of your work
• Knowledge and passion about researching products, especially those found on major retailer sites.
• Strong portfolio of seasonal or campaign-driven editorial work
• Ability to adapt voice and style for different audiences and platforms
• Excellent time management and organization
• Understanding of SEO, digital publishing, and content distribution strategies.
• Comfortable working independently as a consultant, managing multiple deadlines.
• Availability to ramp up during peak holiday campaign periods.
